Chapter 9
持而盈之，不如其已。揣而锐之，不可长保。金玉满堂，莫之能守。富贵而骄，自遗其咎。功成身退，天之道。
To hold and fill to the brim is not as good as stopping in time. Temper a blade to its sharpest, and it will not last long. A hall full of gold and jade cannot be guarded. Wealth and honor with arrogance bring calamity upon oneself. When the work is done, withdraw — this is the way of heaven.

端着一个已经满溢的容器，不如适可而止。把刀锋磨得过于锋利，就不能长久保持。金玉堆满厅堂，没有人能守得住。富贵而骄横，就是自己给自己招来祸患。功成业就之后及时引退，这才合乎自然之道。
