Chapter 37
道常无为而无不为，侯王若能守之，万物将自化。化而欲作，吾将镇之以无名之朴。无名之朴，夫亦将无欲。不欲以静，天下将自定。
The Tao is always without action, yet nothing is left undone. If kings and lords could hold to it, all things would transform by themselves. If during transformation desires arise, I would calm them with the nameless simplicity. The nameless simplicity will bring about freedom from desire. Without desire there is stillness, and the world settles by itself.

道永远是无为的，然而没有什么事情不是它做的。侯王如果能持守它，万物将会自行化育。化育过程中如果产生了欲望，我就用无名的质朴来镇服它。无名的质朴能使人清心寡欲。没有了欲望而归于宁静，天下自然就安定了。
